You’ll need a valid driver’s license (any country) and an ID. We prefer payment by credit card, but in certain cases we allow cash.
A 50% down payment secures your booking (100% for one-day hires). Any balance is settled on handover. We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, bank transfer, cash, Bitcoin, and Ethereum.
Yes. All quoted daily rates include comprehensive insurance and VAT. Please note that excesses apply.
The excess is your maximum liability. Damages up to the excess (varies by model) are the renter’s responsibility. Above that amount, insurance covers the remainder.
We do not offer zero-excess. Consider whether your travel insurance or credit card covers car-rental excess.
The renter is liable for any damage during the rental, including accidental tyre and windscreen damage.
VAT and comprehensive insurance are included. Only extra kilometres or damages are charged additionally. A discretionary valet fee may apply if a car is returned in an unacceptably dirty state (including evidence of smoking).
Anyone with a valid license can rent. For drivers under 25, the insurance excess amount doubles. OYA reserves the right to rent at our discretion.
Yes—free of charge if we receive valid licenses before rental. Cars may not be entrusted to a third party without our prior knowledge and consent.
Yes—within the Cape Town region at R350 each way. We can meet you at any establishment, hotel, or at Cape Town International Airport.
We’re based in Cape Town; one-way fees apply. Typical fees:
  • George — R3,500
  • Port Elizabeth — R5,000
  • Durban — R7,000
We meet you at arrivals with a nameboard. Handover is digital—no queues, minimal admin. For drop-off, we’ll meet you at the DROP & GO / Parkade 2 Public Pick-Up, or you can leave the car with our valet partner in Parkade 1.

Yes. Generally an additional R1,000, subject to itinerary and duration.
Your card details are stored securely in our reservation software, which is PCI-compliant.
You’re welcome to return earlier; rentals and rates are based on a 24-hour period.
100% refund if cancelled at least two weeks before your rental date. For cancellations within two weeks, the 50% booking fee is forfeited.
Call us immediately. If other drivers or witnesses are involved, collect their details and take photos of all damages. For insurance claims, a police report is required—we’ll assist you with the process.
Absolutely—subject to availability. We love helping guests experience different models from the fleet.
Unfortunately not. If we suspect an animal was in the vehicle, damages and a valet fee may be charged.
Yes—for your safety. Any alerts related to irresponsible driving may result in cancellation of the contract.
Cape Town and the Western Cape are generally very safe by global standards. As always, use common sense and avoid leaving valuables visible.
